Large Programme Image

Synopsis

World-class chefs from across the nation will once again sharpen their knives and perfect their menus as they prepare for battle in the UK’s longest running and most loved food competition series, Great British Menu. Over the last decade Great British Menu has provided a benchmark for the most amazing food Britain has to offer. Hundreds of our finest chefs have been inspired, in the spirit of competition, to push the gastronomic boundaries for the opportunity to represent their region and win a place on a menu served for special guests at a prestigious banquet.

"For the twelfth series of Great British Menu, the chefs have been challenged to create dishes which mark 140 years of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships and celebrate a ‘taste of summer’. It’s a chance to enjoy the incredible tastes, smells and colours of everybody’s favourite time of year and pay tribute to an event synonymous with the sunny season. Along the way, the chefs explore the traditions of the competition and honour the players who make it such an iconic sporting event. The judges are joined by guests including Tim Henman, Greg Rusedksi and Andy Murray’s mum Judy who help ensure the banquet is a fitting celebration for the world’s most revered grand slam."
