Undercover Boss follows high level corporate executives as they take the extraordinary step of going undercover in their own companies to ensure that they are fighting fit for the future. The bosses slip anonymously into the lowest level jobs within their companies, get their hands dirty with the rank and file, and find out what their employees really think of them and discover how smoothly their companies are really run. In the process, these senior executives learn about themselves, the perception of their company and the spirit of their work force. They discover what needs fixing, who deserves praising and who needs a wake up call. It’s an experience that transforms the bosses and the people who work for them.

Ratings

UK launch June '09: 12.3% share on Ch4, beating the channel average. 2nd UK series premiered 14% share, & increased the average share from the lead-in show by 27% . Great launch in Denmark: 34% of the market share. USA: Delivered the largest audience for an entertainment program this season after the Super Bowl final, and Delivered the largest audience EVER – 38.6 million viewers - for a premiere broadcast of a reality series in the USA. Australian version won the timeslot every night it was broadcast securing a fantastic 42.55% average share & 1.22million viewers! Netherlands achieved an average market share 41% above channel's average. France: Launched on M6 June 2012 with unprecedented high ratings and winning the timeslot for Females 14 - 49
