The stories and the dangers behind prison tattoos
Sketch’s Prison Ink is an observational documentary series that follows tattoo artist, Sketch, as he explores the culture of tattoos in Britain’s prisons. As he immerses himself in this fascinating world he’ll meet people who were tattooists inside, others who got inked and the guards who try to stop this dangerous practice. He’ll meet people who have turned their lives around – often using their tattoos as a source of inspiration to do this.
Alongside the personal stories of those involved, Sketch will reveal the hidden meanings behind common prison tattoos, and ask why people choose to celebrate and commemorate their most difficult moments by inking their bodies.
