Great Canal Journeys - Series 2

3 x 1 hr

A documentary travelogue series following much loved thespians Timothy West and his wife Prunella Scales as they navigate some of the most breathtaking stretches of canals. Each episode will tell the history of a different canal network. Along the way Tim and Prunella will meet the local characters who live, work or just enjoy the canals and witness firsthand how canal life has changed over the years.

The couple have been narrow boat enthusiasts for almost four decades so each film will be a personal journey about their love of boating and of each other as they approach their twilight years. Full of charm and nostalgia, the series will offer a vicarious encounter with the world of slow travel and the camaraderie of canal life as well as the chance to see beautiful countryside from a new perspective. It will also offer practical advice and information to any would-be narrow boaters.
