8 x 1 hour
Lilies centres around the Moss Family – Dadda, Billy, Iris, Ruby & May – as they try to make their way in the working class world of 1920’s Liverpool. The family is driven by a strong sense of family pride & a need for everyone to earn their keep. In this house there is no room for sentimentality, which doesn’t mean there isn’t room for a lot of laughs. Dadda, an Ulsterman, milks cows at the local dairy & is an amateur & very unlicensed, Vet. A staunch member of the Orange Lodge, he’s raised his son Billy the same, but the girls were raised Catholic by their mother, who has died before the series opens. This sectarian divide within the household is one of the many things the family must negotiate each week.
