Prince Charles: The Royal Restoration

1 x 1 hour

HRH The Prince Of Wales used £20 million of his own Charitable Trust’s money and personally brokered a £45 million pound deal to save Dumfries House, one of Scotland’s most important stately homes.

But his intention is for Dumfries House to be much more than a museum. Presented by Alan Titchmarsh, this film follows Prince Charles and his team as they try to transform the estate, offering jobs for local people, attracting investment, and even starting its own, very distinctive, housing development. In short, a model of regeneration that could be copied throughout Britain. And the documentary follows Prince Charles and his team as they try to raise the funds to pay back his loan, creating an income stream for the project.

This is the story of one man trying to achieve his vision. It is the story of Dumfries House.
